Maybe a bit too heavy for an LL.B. student or casual reader without a legal background, but otherwise an engaging and interesting book from which Lawyers at the High Courts can derive insights to argue their cases more decisively, and scholars of Constitutional Law comprehend the ideas and process of arriving at decisions of most Constitutional cases. It is acknowledged as an authoritative source of Constitutional Jurisprudence in the High Courts.

Best Studied in conjunction with DD Basu’s exhaustive ten volume Commentary on the Constitution of India, this critical commentary by Seervai provides an insight as to how and why the decisions were given as well as explains in lucid detail the alternate and critical views on the largely positivist commentaries given by Basu.
